The NYC Greenways Coalition convened the first-ever NYC Greenways Summit to explore greenways as vital public infrastructure and the need for comprehensive planning, implementation, and upkeep of a fully developed greenway network in NYC.
The inaugural Summit in May 2022 covered the status of NYC’s conceptual 400-mile network, greenway typologies, and planning, legislative, and policy challenges, with on-greenway workshops and rides during the concurrent “Greenways Week.”
Summit speakers included elected officials and government leaders, community stakeholders and civically engaged New Yorkers, and professionals working to advance an equitable greenway network in NYC. All speakers, topics and activities are listed below.
