Produced by Brooklyn Greenway Initiative in partnership with the 40+ other groups that make up the NYC Greenways Coalition (many of which have been key players in the decades of individual advocacy work that planted the seeds of this year’s successes), this first-of-its-kind Summit captured the expertise, enthusiasm, & energy of NYC’s greenway advocates and a remarkable coalescence of support from leaders in city, state, and federal government for a fully-connected and equitable greenway network for NYC. 

The panels brought together community organizers, city planners, commissioners & key figures from city departments, and elected officials from our city, state, and federal government to talk about greenways as unique and critical infrastructure that connects neighborhoods while being destinations in their own right – from questions of funding & feasibility to implementation & equity.
